Pastor’s Blog
WHAT AN AMAZING THREE YEARS!
As we close out the year 2011, we are quickly approaching our three year anniversary. God has allowed many people to come and go, many new Christians have been born into the kingdom, those who were complacent in their Christian walk have become renewed and empowered, many have been healed and many are healing, every worship service brings new and exciting works of the Holy Ghost and we’re busy looking for a new and more permanent home!
I believe 2012 will be the year God starts building this house on the foundations He’s set to date. I’m excited about City Church now more than ever. I’ve grown so much as a pastor because of the challenges here and there and the amazing congregation God has placed in my trust. No regrets here. Me and my family are in this thing for the glory of God.
If you’re not in it with us yet, join in….this journey is going to continue to be amazing!
Peace,
John
REMEMBER THIS DATE!
February 22, 2009 @ 11:00am will be the first worship gathering of the City Church of Charleston!
We are so excited about this HUGE leap of faith and obedience to what we believe is God’s will for our lives. Come join us for more fun than you thought you were allowed to have in church, more intimacy than you imagined worship could involve and more family than you dreamed you could have.
More updates later….
Peace,
John
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!
I can’t translate into grammar the whirlwind of excitement, apprehension, joy, anticipation and wonderings that are gripping me and my family as we see the February 22nd date approaching. Overall, it seems we’re going to start this church plant in healthy ground. Things seem to be falling into place and God is blessing us abundantly. Sure, there’s the usual, ‘not enough money or volunteers’, but that’s true at any church….right?
We need your prayers, so take some time right now and ask for God’s face to shine upon us, his favor to rest on us and to give us wisdom. I’m serious….do it now!
Peace,
John

Johnny (Yes I am allowed to still call you that!). You know you are always one of my favorite “family members”. I love you and love how you love my children. Thank you for remaining a part of our lives and we are so happy for you and Angela and the new church. We will come visit soon! Brad is really amazed that I have the Holy Spirit in me and wants it. Keep him in your prayers. Keep us updated on the church! May God Bless Your Family! I love T.J.’s photo on your web site! I am still thinking of you at the age you were when you and Angela met! I love you to pieces! Lynda

How would I have ever known about Charleston had it not been for an invitation, 23 years ago, to a 15 hour road trip in the back seat of a Subaru that would shift into 2nd gear? I totally remember that trip from Alexandria! I believe TJ was surviving on ‘circus cereal’ back then. LOL!
I fell in love with Charleston after that initial exposure….and of course meeting my (future) wife wasn’t bad either. Wow…lots of memories. I’ve told TJ before, I’m happy we’re family, but even more blessed that we’re all close friends.
Love you guys too!

We love you two also. Your prayers are definitely felt over on this side of the river. And yes, our musician is pretty good. You’d be so proud of her. The first three years of her life she received a good foundation. She loves you, for sure!
